Rare version of a standard G98 that was made at the V.C.Schilling factory Suhl in 1916. This gun survived WW1 and was then converted in or just prior to WW2 to a G98b. About the only change was the replacement of the rolling G98 rear sight for the flatter K98 sight.The gun shows both Imperial and Waffenhampt stamps and was also marked EWB on the stock at the end of WW1.
